Professional Profile  

Trained in Haemato-Oncology in West Midlands Regional rotation from 1994. Consultant Hematologist at Worcestershire Royal Hospital from July 2002 onwards.

I am currently Clinical Director for Haemato Oncology for the Trust from 2009. Involved actively in the restructuring of cancer network in Worcestershire. Which is the biggest change for our county.

I am the current lead for countywide anticoagulation and set up both secondary care new Anticoagulation service including Warfarin dosing and DVT clinics.

My special interest is in Myeloma and Lymphoma. I am currently the principal investigator for all the National Clinical Trials in my NHS Trust. This include AML17,AML16, Myeloma XI, Myeloma IX, RATHL, Pacifico, PASS study.

I have close links with Cure Leukemia Charity and involved in fund raising activities. Actively involved in fundraising for Breast Cancer unit in Worcester.

Actively involved in medical teaching both undergraduates and Postgraduates through University of Birmingham. Currently PACES examiner for MRCP (UK) for Royal College of Physicians London, Edinburgh & Glasgow. Also recruited as examiner for MRCPath (Hematology) in 2010.

All General Hematology including Haemato-Oncology, Thrombosis-Haemostasis & Red cell disorders. Specialist interest in Myeloma & Lymphoma. Lymphomas of all grades and type. Acute and Chronic Leukaemias, special interest in Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia Treatment and investigations in Thrombotic disorders especially Thrombophilic disorders. Investigations management of Anaemias of different nature, Myeloproliferative disorders and Myelodysplastic syndromes including novel treatment options.

Lead for the trust in Myeloma & Plasma cell dyscrasia actively involved in the National and regional clinical trials.
